When you travel in Vietnam and you want to buy something in market, you need to know bargain skill, especial in Dong Ba market at Hue City... ^.^. Bargain is a traditional when you buy something in market of vietnamese, it's so funny. :p sometime you will be receive some word such as: are u crazy, f*ck u.... hahaa... but it's okay. they just feel annoy when you see whatever their buy but you not buy it, it's just a little some like that. now, i will say you some bargain skill with vietnamese. ^3^ it's just fit when you buy something at market not at shop.
firtly, never express you are a rich person, don't wear any jewellry. when the seller feel you are rich, they will be asking a higher price from true value.
secondly, you should visit many store in the market and you find a genaral idea about a reasonable average of the thing you want to buy.
thirdly, never express how much you like the thing you want to buy. Pretend see any thing while you strolling in the store. when the seller see you really want to buy something, you will be have higher price from the seller, vietnamese say it's a " cut neck" price. =.="
fourly, find some flaw at the things you want to buy, you know, the seller always say good things, but it's not sure. if you find flaw the seller will be reduce price for you. 0.0
PRETEND WALK AWAY. if the seller do not accept the cost you want, you can pretend walk away, the seller may call you come back. it's really a quite skill. but, you need to make sure the cost you say not too low. :D
you should learn some vietnamese word such as "xin chao" = "hello", "cai nay bao nhieu tien" = "how much"... when you say that, the seller feel you a friendly, maybe they will reduce for you. ;)
finally, when you bargaining, you stay relaxing and aways polite. don't worry. Vietnamese is helpful and friendly. trust me and you will have great price and funny shopping. ^^!
